[[aieeeeh! I totally forgot it was my turn here OMG!!!!! So sorry!!! I keep checking back to Xanadia but am like, yeah, the newest post is March 15th... >.< Lol]]
Echo had to smile, pleased to see the stallion was feeling more cheerful. She put the twigs and the rest down and then considered the air and the sky with a thoughtful eye and a few sniffs. Then she shrugged.
"No, I don't suppose I really will. It isn't very cold, anyway, and it looks as though it won't rain tonight, either." She smiled playfully. "Besides, if I get cold, I can always resize myself and cuddle into your tail to keep myself warm."
With a light laugh, she started to collect and arrange the twigs in order to make a fireplace.

((lol!!!))
NeonCobalt laughed at hearing her reply, though he felt a strange unease which he hastily brushed off as nerves or something weird.
"Well that's good then," he said rather cheerfully. He paused when the twigs caught fire from the sparks, and he took his time blowing on them lightly and adding some more dry stuff for the flames to gobble up. "Because I know close to nothing about building shelters... Well, I probably know the basics with the sticks and the leaves, but I'd never be able to build anything that would resemble a decent or fine shelter for one such as yourself. If anything, it would serve as something opposite to what it should."
The flames had gottne bigger now, and the brilliant blue unicorn added some more sticks and bits to the fire.

[[hehe I shouldn't be here during working-hours... but what the heck, I'm allowed a few breaks.]]
Echo gave another jingling laugh. She found the stallion highly entertaining and likeable. As he seemed to do all right with the fire, she curled up beside the fireplace, collecting her feet under her and wrapping her tail round her feet, her wings folded neatly.
"Well, you do seem to know your way with fire, at least," she noted with a smile, then shuddered a little. "That is good. I feel a little chilly."

((lol!! well my bad for not checking up here often enough. I get so caught up with the Highland's and my Highland posts tend to take me ages.))
"Well, you do seem to know your way with fire, at least," she noted with a smile, then shuddered a little. "That is good. I feel a little chilly."
"Fire isn't all that bad. It takes some time to get around though." He said with a small smile, adding more sticks to it just to keep himself a little entertained. "Hopefully it will suffice in keeping us warm though." NeonCobalt sighed a little. ...Pity we don't have any blankets... they would have helped. He thought to himself quietly, looking up through the opening in the tree canopy.
The silver stars hanging above on that sheet of blue-black sky twinkled down at him; they appeared to be smiling at him but at the same time mocking him because he was so far from them and he knew he could never reach them completely, even if he tried. Cruel... aren't you? The thought caught him by surprise. They were just stars after all, big balls of burning gas, though he wouldn't tell the magic loving folk here about that. They wouldn't believe his sciences anyway. He smiled at the thought, though a little sadly and added more sticks, even though there already was enough there.
((I'm... quite out of things to say. NeonCobalt is feeling a bit moody by the looks of it. Echo can ask him something. see if he replies. =3))

[[hehe]]
Echo smiled absent-mindedly to what NeonCobalt said about the fire as she stretched out one wing and started a thorough grooming session of the feathers. She proceeded with this for a long time, forgetting herself into this business. She was very particular about her feathers, and wanted them to remain in perfect condition at all times. And then, she felt quite comfortable with this stallion. He seemed to have the same wandering spirit as herself, and in every way they got along marvellously well; so well, indeed, that she felt the silence between them while he looked at the stars and she groomed her feathers to be quite pleasant and not uncomfortable at all.
After she had finally arranged all her feathers in a satisfactory way she folded the wing again and looked at Cobalt from across the fire, a gentle and friendly expression in her ancient eyes.
"You said you had travelled much," she said, feeling as though she might begin a conversation again. "But you came from Xanadia. I wonder, do you have family still living here?"
[[you wouldn't believe what time I had to spend in reading back this thread - just to make sure I haven't forgotten anything about what she already knows about him. >.< lol]]

The unicorn hadn't noticed the pegasus preening herself. If he did, he didn't put much concern into worrying about it. He continued to look up at the darkened night sky for the time being, feeling lost but in a comforting sense as he watched the little twinkling dots until his companion spoke up and brought him back down from the stars.
"You said you had travelled much," she said, feeling as though she might begin a conversation again. "But you came from Xanadia. I wonder, do you have family still living here?"
NeonCobalt shrugged looked back to Echo. "No." He said simply before grinning to her when he spoke his next part: "Well, not any family I'd care to keep in contact with anyway. I don't know what happened to them or where they went... they could still be here, but then again they might not. It doesn't really matter."
He clearly did not like the idea of family being the new subject matter of the conversation, but he chose to let it flow yet turned the current in her direction.
"What about you?" He asked. "Do you keep in contact with you family and relatives? Do any of them live here?"
((lol!!! I read back through this whole topic a while ago, but I've already forgotten most of it now. I just remember him being all touchie about the love and spring business and Echo saying she was from Fewa or something and they agreed on the magic thing about xanadia *shrug* Oh and Red Velvet or Velvet Red came by and Neo gave her the cold-shoulder XD and Delta laughed.))

[[Just letting you know that the reply is pending because I'm currently working on Echo's history to actually know myself the answer to Neo's question. I'll get 'round to it... the only problem is that I think this is going to result to yet another character... >.< lol]]

((lol!! Yay for another character! Hehe, I think I might want to bring in another character too, but I don't think I have any good ideas for one at the moment. Chances are I'll have to bring one from a dead RPG to over here where there is a little life beginning to take place. ^-^))

[[well, I don't think he's going to make a Xanadian character; especially since I'm up to my character limit here (and one character over, because I adopted the Queen on behalf of Whis). But I might bring him here as a temp at some point - or then Echo will have to leave Xanadia to find him, because they have some unfinished business, hehe. However, I will be back asap with an actual post, since I have it all figured out now. Will probably modify this post for that.
EDIT: And here's the post!]]
Echo smiled gently when he spoke of his family. Well, if he had none, or none he would have cared for, it explained to a large extent why he rather not spoke of it. She understood, and though she was curious - as always - she decided she would not ask more, if he would not offer information. However, the direction he turned the conversation took her, for some reason, quite by surprise. By all reason she should have known to expect the question - but she had not, and her sky blue complexion paled considerably as she took in his question.
"What about you?" He asked. "Do you keep in contact with you family and relatives? Do any of them live here?"
She looked away, and suddenly, instead of a gentle, friendly expression there were echoes of pain written over her features. How long had she ran from that question? How long had she avoided recollection? It must be a lifetime now, and more. Her slender neck moved as she swallowed, shivering for the painful memories. Her other shoulder twitched a little as the breeze touched it - yes, she could still feel the scar there, though all outer appearances of it had healed long ago. But the scars of her heart had never healed. They had merely deepened, and set their home into her.
"No," she replied quietly, the echoes of her voice soft and sighing now. "I... don't have family. Not in the true sense of the word, anyway. I do have a relative... but I don't even know where he is these days." She would speak no more, and her eyes wandered on the softly moving grass, fluttered by the breeze. She would have closed her eyes for the pain, but she knew it would not leave her that way. Only ghosts of memories would haunt her in that darkness.

((Hurra for postiness XD ))
His expression softened as he considered the blue pegasus, her expression quite different from before. She looked like she was hurting from a memory or an invisible wound; It did not bode well.
"No," she replied quietly, the echoes of her voice soft and sighing now. "I... don't have family. Not in the true sense of the word, anyway. I do have a relative... but I don't even know where he is these days."
"I see..." He managed to remark. It wasn't the best he could come up with, but her reply left him with little to say that would not upset her, which was something he had no desire to do. She didn't seem to keen to say any more it seemed; he quietly watched as her eyes look around, a pained expression in them. As he considered it, he found it a little odd to think that whereas he couldn't care anymore for his family - and it wasn't like they cared particularly much for him anymore anyway - the blue pegasus seemed very upset about her lack of contact with a family member.
Feeling a little awkward now, he looked away with a slight frown visible on what could be seen of his face that was not covered in that mass of bright coloured hair. He spoke, quietly enough for her to just hear: "I'm sorry to hear..." and he really was.

Echo looked back to Neo when he spoke, and a faint smile rose on her lips. She could tell he really was sorry for her, and it touched her. Despite her usual good-humoured demeanor, she was often sad inside, but dared never show it. White Fury was the only one who had ever seen her at her worst, and he was the only one who she had so far trusted and felt comfortable with. It seemed that Neo truly understood, even if he, like Fury, did not know the truth. It comforted her. She wondered if she would ever disclose to anyone what truly pressed on her heart, what had brought to her this pain. It was too horrible to even recall, let alone account to someone else.
Neo was not the one she should open to, she felt at the moment. He was closed up himself, and bore his own pains inside. Echo felt drawn to him because he was so distant, like herself, and she understood him - and felt she received understanding herself. But in order to ever be able to recount what had happened to her she knew she needed much warmth, and much love. And she was not looking for love now. Or ever.
She smiled to the stallion, however, and dipped her head.
"Thank you, Neon Cobalt," she said quietly. "We all have our scars, do we not?" Echo's smile faltered a little, and she shook her head. This turn of the conversation was not to her liking, and she searched desperately to turn it away. "So... where are you planning to go in the morning? Are you going to the city? I could come with you there. I have not been in the city in a long time."

He looked in her direction and smiled a little at hearing her thanks. The unicorn was eager for a change of direction for the conversation, but he found her choice was not quite to his taste. He shifted a little uncomfortably, but replied in what he hoped was a happier voice.
"Well, I had been planning on returning home to store away all the stock I've been collecting this afternoon." He said, patting the bag he kept to the side a little. "Mind you, the little place I call home isn't near the city. I... can't say I'm all that keen on going back to civilisation anyway. Then again, I haven't been there for some time now, so I guess a visit would be suitable."
After a thoughtful pause, he chuckled a little and explained himself: "I'm just a little wary of what kind of faces from the past I might come across. Can't say I'm eager for a reunion after such a long time of being away..." Even though there is a face I'd very much like to see again... He continued in his own thoughts. I'm just scared of they'd react or how I might react...
The blue stallion suddenly shrugged. "But hey, if you'd like to go check out the city, I'd accompany you." He said smiling to her. "Unless there was another place you had in mind for tomorrow morning."

Echo nodded with understanding as he spoke of faces he might not want to see. She understood well. It was one reason why she was not keen on returning to Fewa. Everyone there would have reminded her of ugly things, and things she rather forgot. However, of late she had come to realise that the past must be dealt with one way or another. She had come to miss what she had lost, and though she had ran away from it all long time ago, she now felt that it might have been a mistake, and this only added to her pain. She wished not the same for Neo, whom she had come to like in such a short time already.
When he offered to accompany her to the city, she smiled and nodded.
“Well. I think we shall take a stroll down the streets of Xanadia, then. We might make a field trip of it, and walk all around Xanadia, eh? I should like to visit the Temple as well.” She looked at him curiously. “Do you worship, by any chance?”

“Well. I think we shall take a stroll down the streets of Xanadia, then. We might make a field trip of it, and walk all around Xanadia, eh? I should like to visit the Temple as well.” She looked at him curiously.
He nodded agreeing to her decision of a "field trip", which didn't sound too bad. If they kept moving around and did not stop here and there too much - as well as avoid most highly populated places- then it was unlikely that anyone would be able to find him and force him into awkward questions and conversation about what he had been doing for the past five or so years.
The temple didn't sound like much of a bad idea, even though he usually would try his best to avoid the place in the past.
“Do you worship, by any chance?”
"Worship?" He looked at her, a confused expression on his face. "Erm..." Neo then looked to the side a little. Truly it had been too long; he couldn't quite remember much of the traditions here. "...worship what exactly?"
Crud... that sounded stupid... He thought, mentally cursing himself for not being careful when it came to answering these kinds of delicate questions. I hope what I said doesn't make her think less of me... This was true - even though they had only been in their company for a short period of time, he didn't wish of her to think ill of him.
((haha, I can't decide if he should be religious, but because he is a scientist, and a devote one at that, I doubt he would be. I dunno though... being against whatever religion here would make him an outcast I think. btw, do you know what they worship here? Is it something to do with the sun? O.o *obviously needs to read up on Xanadia stuff*))

[[The truth of the matter is, there is nothing to read on Xanadian religion as yet. Whis never got round to it and understandably I have been preoccupied with developing Highlands. However, the way I figure it is that the Xanadian worship is based on the Moon (seeing as there is the Temple of Moon). More than that I do not know yet. We shall refer to the general religion of Xanadia I think most of the time. I do have planned out some sort of dual worship of the Sun and the Moon (the temple of the Sun is the one in ruins), but the Sun has been forgotten for looooong time now. I really need to get the confirmation from Whis for being fully in charge of developing everything here. I think she gave me the permission already but I need to clear with her if I can truly take this over and come up with everything. She's just slow in replying to emails, and I'm wary with taking over a place I haven't started, you'll probably understand. ..oh man I need to go now. >.< Ah well I'll come back with a post later. EDIT: I heard back from Whis. I shall officially start to develop the Xanadian culture (including religion) as of now - or as soon as I have the time. Oh, would you be all right with jumping to the next day soon (not like, right now, but after a few more posts or so)? Also, do you mind if it's the same day Shad is supposed to meet with Winterberry? I think it fits, anyway.]]
