[[cont. from the Temple Ruins]]
Fury glided gently to the ground at the very edge of the city. His hooves touched the pavement, and he beat the air a few times with his wings, and then folded them. He turned his head to look at his passenger, smiling.
"Now, here we are," he said. "I'm afraid I cannot carry you further. It gets very difficult to fly above the city. The air currents... but it doesn't matter. Are you all right?"

(cont from the apartments) The redish-pink mare was walking along the streets of Xanadia. She then saw a stallion, carrying something on his back. Or was it someone? Shady tilted her head a bit. She then raised her head again, and trotted over to the stallion.
"Um, hello." She said to him.

A little disappointed when Fury started to decend towards the city, Sun had to once again close her eyes as the buildings approached at what seemed much too fast a speed. She breathed a little "wow" once he tucked his wings in and she slid down off his back.
"That was great!" she said and hugged Fury quickly. "That was the most fun ever!" Her smile was wide as she pulled back away - it was not much like Sun to act so, but it had been an exhilarating experiance. She was going back through her mind at the flight when Shady came up and said hello, and Sun nearly grabbed her to tell her how fun it was. Instead, she composed herself (her smile still wide) and said hello in return.

The redish-pink mare smiled. "Hi." She said to Sunshimmer. She looked around, seeing as no one else was around. Shady sighed in relief. She was glad that alicorn wasn't anywhere near.

Fury could not help but grin as well a bit at Sun's excited hug. He, too, was not used to such shows of affection, at least not in public. He shook his mane a little to disentangle it from the knot Sun had got it, and stretched his wings and neck. She had been a little heavy, he had to admit it - pegasus bones were not really meant for carrying heavy loads - but it had still been fun.
"Hello," he said to the reddish pink mare and then smiled to Sun again. "It was a pleasure, I assure you," he said. "If you liked it, I'm sure you would absolutely love the mountains. There is nothing quite like flying over the mountain range on a crispy morning."
He smiled to himself, feeling quite jovial.
"I can take you some day, if you like," he found himself offering before he had the time to consider it twice.

Shady smiled at the pegasus. She then noticed that he was talking to Sunshimmer. She wondered if he was just trying to ignore her, or if he was just too busy to speak of more to her. Shady sighed again. She looked around, making sure again that that alicorn wasn't near. Shady would've had to take action if that alicorn was near her again. Even though Shady wasn't as young and strong as she used to be, she still had a little bit of strength in her.

A silver-white bird fluttered down from the sky and landed on Fury's shoulder. It looked innocently at Sunshimmer and Fury but when her gaze turned to Shady her eyes burned with a malicious hatred.

Fury was slightly startled about the bird that landed on his shoulder. He turned his head to regard it, to ensure it really was a bird. He rather liked birds, but he knew someone else who used to fly up to his shoulder, and as his heart soared for a moment with happy expectation of seeing Echo again, but when his eye caught on the white bird, he felt disappointed and turned his head away again.

When Fury turned away in dissapointment, the bird gave him a sharp nip on the ear. That'd teach him.

Shady looked at the bird and notied it was looking at her. She noticed it was giving her a dirty look. Did Shady know the bird? Did the bird know Shady? Shady didn't know. She just thought the bird was one of those cranky birds who don't like ponies very much.
She then noticed the bird had bit Fury's ear. The reddish pink mare couldn't help but giggle a little. She smiled. She then decided to leave before the bird bit her ear. "Well, I'll go, now." She said, and trotted away. (cont. elsewhere)

Fury let out an annoyed whinny when the bird nipped him on the ear and turned back to regard her. He got suspicious. Suddenly, she did not appear exactly a normal bird. He hardly noticed Shady leaving as he concentrated on examining the bird with his eyes.
"Excuse me, madam," he said politely to the bird. "Do I know you?"

The bird hopped up onto Fury's head and began to nibble his hair, and act well... Birdish.

Fury tried to look up at the bird, but didn't manage too well. After a moment's consideration he shrugged and let it go at that. Well, it was a bird. What did he expect? A Shakespearean sonnet?

"I can take you some day, if you like,"
"Oh yes please!" Sun was lost in daydreams of mountains and flying and how the sun would look reflecting off the snow at the top of the mountains, and she had completely forgotten that it was dark out. She had also completely failed to notice Shady leave, or the presence of the bird which Fury was so concerned about.
"When can we go?" Sun finally looked up and asked, and briefly wondered why there was a bird perched on Fury's head.

Fury smiled to Sun. He rather liked the mare.
"Whenever you prefer, I suppose," he said. "I have no great obligations anywhere, and I planned to stay in the city for a while."
And reflect upon my strange dreams, he added in his mind, but said nothing of it aloud.
