Fury felt better for being able to cheer her up. He got a bit uncomfortable about her calling him "sir", however. It made him feel old. Well, of course he was old, but he didn't like to feel like it. He cleared his throat.
"Ehm, there's really no need for that 'sir', my dear," he said politely. "I should like to think us better friends than that already."

"Oh! Yes! Sorry!" Sun blushed again but laughed. "Thank you Fury." She had nearly forgotten that it was dark and scarry out and didn't feel the need to be so quiet anymore. Of course, there were probably ponies sleeping by now (she had no idea what time it was anylonger - she never had learned to tell anything by the stars) so she had probably better be a little quite at least.
"I uh, don't suppose you know what time it is?"

Fury tried to think. He looked up at the sky thoughtfully, searching from them the time. After a while he smiled and looked at the mare.
"It is about midnight, I believe," he said.
[[Of course, if someone has a reason why it wouldn't be midnight, I'll change it at once ;D]]

"Oh great lord! Midnight?" Sun pulled on her hair as she walked. Midnight? She had never been up until midnight! Her parent's were going to freak out. They would probably think her killed by the little blue orbs!
Taking a deep breath to calm down, and giving her forlock a good tug to get her thoughts back in order, she wondered briefly why she hadn't seen this coming.
"We should walk faster. Midnight is much too late to be out."

He realised that for her, midnight must really have been quite too late to be out and about alone. He looked at her, considering her size and weight for a while, and then nodded.
"All right," he said. "If you are in a hurry, I could try to fly you there. You are not very big, and don't look too heavy, and I am rather strong. I believe I could take you as far as the edge of the city."
And he lowered his wings expectantly, so that she might climb on his back if she wanted.
[[well, he's a big stallion. I think he could do it. ;D]]

Sun had to stiffle laughter as Fury bent down with wings spread for her to climb on. She hadn't had a piggy-back ride in ages, and thought she was probably much too big for one now. But he did look strong, so maybe it would work?
A tenative hoof touched his shoulder, "are you sure? I think crashing and falling into the forest at night would be much worse than walking through it." Not to mention that riding on a near strangers back to town would be strange enough in itself, and flying probably more scary than even the blue orbs at night!

Fury chuckled and bent a little more to make it easier for her to get on. He was assured he could carry her, and the journey would be made more quickly. Of course, he was sad to part from her, but she was obviously in a hurry, so he felt it as his duty to help her back to her home as quickly as possible.
"Don't be afraid," he said gently. "I am a skilled flier. I have carried loads far heavier, believe me."

"Ok," Sun agreed tentatively and jumped up on his back, closing her eyes just in case he toppled over with her weight. But he was fine and she wrapped her forelegs around his neck so she wouldn't fall.
Anything to get out of the dark forest quicker.

Fury tested her weight in his back, bending his legs and then getting straight again, before deciding that she was there comfortably - and then, off he went, his strong legs throwing them off the ground into the air, and his wings beat until they were up above the trees. He began to fly towards the direction of the city, flying steady in order not to scare his passenger. He knew that for an unaccustomed pony, flying could be a dreadful experience, and he had no idea if Sun had a fright of heights.
[[cont. in the city somewhere?]]

"Oh Great Lord Apollo!" Sun squeaked out as they lifted into the air and quickly made it above the trees. She shut her eyes tight and held on (reminding herself every few seconds to loosen her grip else she cut off Fury's air and he fell to their deaths), and only after she had become accustomed to the motion below her did she open her eyes just slightly and look out.
The view was absolutely breathtaking. She could see the town in the distance before them, and the trees (with those creepy blue orbs) below them, and above nothing but the moon and stars. It was nearly beautiful enough to arrest her fear of the dark.
(cont. in town then I guess)
