Shadow Star was really having difficulties in deciding which way to smile now. The truth was beginning to dawn on him. The two mares did in fact like him. What was he to do? He tried to smile to both of them evenly.
MeadowGreen's offer to sing and play music for him touched him, however.
"I would be most obliged," he said to her, then blushed around the ears a little. "But you really needn't bother on my account."
[[Ah, yes, poor Shad... He just doesn't know which way to sit. Hmm, I don't know why your mum finds that amusing. I think it's just simply cute ;D]]

MeadowGreen laughed pleasantly. "A bother? None at all!" She smiled shyly, no matter how much she wanted it to not seem like that. "I'd be most honoured to sing for you..."
((I don't know... my mum is hard to understand at times))

Shadow Star smiled and his ears got a little more red. An honour that someone would sing for him? He didn't know quite which way to be.
"Ah, yes, then I would... be most grateful," he said, in want of anything better to say.
He rather liked her shyness and softness, though. Well, he liked Winterberry's shyness too. Suddenly he didn't know what to do. He didn't want to appear to like either of them better since in truth he couldn't really make up his mind.
He was beginning to regret ever bumping into that stallion.

All the green unicorn could do for a reply was smile. She, of course, noticed the way the stallion was blushing and she couldn't help but feel at though he was probably being pressured... in a way...

Winterberry noticed Shadow Star blushing while talking to Meadowgreen. She could feel a few tears roll down her cheeks. I knew it. She thought to herself. I knew he liked her more than me.
The white mare wiped the tears from her eyes before any of them could notice her crying. But more tears rolled down her cheeks.

Shadow Star noticed Winterberry's tears and felt very alarmed and very uncomfortable as he did not really know what he ought to have done. Finally he put a hoof on Winterberry's hoof, looking very concerned.
"Winterberry?" he asked. "Is something the matter?"
Well, he suspected he had an idea on what it was but was quite too confused to know just what else he should have said to soothe the mare.

MeadowGreen watched her friend with concern, but she was still feeling that she was at fault and not only that, the green unicorn was a bit confused on what to do to comfort the mare. All she could do at the moment was wait for her reply to Shadow's question.

The white mare wiped her tears away. "I'm fine." She said. She then realized that she was making Shadow Star confused. Maybe I should tell him what's really going on. She thought to herself. She decided to do so when Shadow Star and Winterberry were alone at her house tomorrow.
She smiled sweetly at Shadow Star to let him know that everything was truly alright.

(OOC: meep...got busy for a bit there) Ambrosia finally responded to Xin, after a thoughtful pause. "There is a tower...The Obsidian Tower, nestled in the farthest corner of the Northlands. My mother, the Shadow Mage Aedmeinar, lives there. I lived there too for a short time...and then we were in Dream Valley for awhile. When I got older, I went to the Darklands, but that is too strange a place even for me." ((Geez, sorry but I did not find the post! X{ )) Xin nodded as a respond. "Wow. Personally I´ve lived here all of my life. I somehow wish I could leave for vacation to see what the other parts of the world are like". She yawned slightly. "But, ah. They say it is dangerous to go out there. And I respect and understand it. Besides, the orphans needs me". Yeah, Xin Jing would like to see the world. She would enjoy being in WW´s mane now. A youngster exploring the unkown. But yet she thought it had been a lack of responebility to have let her go. And now she was Guardian and all. The little uni could actually drag home whatever - tourists, those blood-thirsty goods or even the Rainbow of Darkness itself.

Shadow Star was not certain if he was convinced by Winterberry's smile, but he decided to leave it at that. It was, after all, the only polite thing to do. So he smiled as well.
"Good," he said, and then looked around. "I wonder where that waitress is with our meals."
Streaks, also having noticed Winterberry's gloom, made a little chirping noise and bounced up on top of her head, continuing from there to climb into her hair, finally chirping happily right next to her ear, nuzzling her fur.
Shadow Star looked at the squirrel with a rather annoyed expression on his face.
"Streaks!" he said. "Do behave yourself!"
But the squirrel just chirped happily and remained where she was.
Shadow Star sighed and looked at Winterberry apologetically.
"I do apologise," he said. "That squirrel gets troublesome at times."
And he glowered at Streaks, who looked smugly happy right where she was.

Winterberry giggled when Streaks was on her head. She could tell the little animal was just trying to cheer her up, and it was actually working. Winterberry picked up the squirrel from her head and put her in her lap. She then started to pet the animal. "Aww, you're so sweet." She said to her.
She looked up at Shadow Star with a smile.

She looked off into space just above Xia's shoulder, remembering...something.

Shadow Star smiled back, happy that the squirrel had not offended the mare.
Then the waitress arrived with their orders. Shadow Star smiled to her and then looked at his companions.
"Bon appetit, ladies," he said as he started to eat himself.
The conversation of the two mares in another table, talking about faraway places, caught his ear distantly and he turned an absent-minded ear towards that direction while eating, his consciousness only now registering the topic of the conversation. He sighed in his mind as he drooped the ear a little. Their words about the dangers of the world outside brought a pain to his heart, and his mind drifted away to something and someone far away.

Xin nodded again, not entierly sure of what the mare meant. Returning to her coffée, she noticed it was getting cold. "Hrm..." But she just could´nt think of any good reply.

Ambrosia shook her head sharply. "Nevermind me. I've vistied quite a few places, and I just remember some of them less fondly than others. The Northlands are nice...harsh, but things are simple there. And the lights in the sky at night..." she sighed.
